The Events Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing church-related events that foster community engagement, spiritual growth, and outreach. This role blends project management with ministry leadership, ensuring that all events align with the church’s mission and values. The director will oversee event planning and execution, lead and manage event teams, collaborate with church leadership and external vendors, manage facilities and resources, and coordinate marketing and promotion efforts.
Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Execution
- Organize and oversee two types of churchwide events:
- Globally resourced local events such Trunk or Treat, Daymaker Day, Kids Camp, etc.
- Global events such as CAMP, Worship Nights, Unshakeable events, etc.
- Develop event timelines, budgets, and logistics plans.
- Coordinate setup, breakdown, and day-of operations.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage Daymakers and staff involved in event execution.
- Foster a culture of hospitality and excellence among event teams.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with pastors, ministry leaders, and administrative staff to align events with church goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external vendors and service providers.
- Facility & Resource Management
- Schedule use of church facilities and ensure proper setup and teardown.
- Oversee equipment, supplies, and décor for events.
- Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate with communications teams to promote events via community engagement, social media, and signage.
- Ensure branding and messaging are consistent with church identity.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- 5-7 years experience in event planning, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting
- Ability to lead and motivate Daymakers
- Proficiency with scheduling and project management tools
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- A heart for ministry and alignment with the church’s faith and mission
