The Assistant Conference & Events Operations Manager supports the Conference & Events Operations Manager in ensuring the seamless execution of events such as functions, dinners, expos and conferences. The role involves leading, mentoring and training a team of food and beverage ambassadors, supervising duties, and ensuring brand standards and client expectations are met. It requires collaboration with other hotel departments to strategise on new product and service offerings and to promote a strong Heartist culture focused on creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist in leading, mentoring and training a team of food and beverage ambassadors in banquet operations
Supervise and delegate duties, whilst ensuring brand standards are met
Ensure client expectations are met for each event
Deliver a service that exudes luxury and aligns with Sofitel brand standards
Collaborate with other hotel departments to strategise on new product and service offerings
Promote a strong Heartist culture and a team focused on creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Requirements

Previous 2 years + leadership experience in supervising or managing a large operational team in a 5 star hotel environment
Strong networking skills with proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
