As the Banquet & Events Manager, you will lead the delivery of weddings, conferences, corporate events and banquet operations at The William Inglis Hotel – MGallery Collection. You will support wider Food & Beverage outlets when events are not in operation, working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and Chef de Cuisine. Your role involves hands-on leadership, developing your team, and ensuring elevated guest experiences across the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery of weddings, conferences, corporate events and functions
  • Lead, coach and inspire Food & Beverage teams across events and daily operations.
  • Deliver elevated guest experiences in line with MGallery and luxury service standards.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Events and Kitchen teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Lead service briefings, team communication and operational planning.
  • Develop supervisors and emerging leaders through coaching, feedback and hands-on support.
  • Foster a positive team culture built on trust, accountability and collaboration.
  • Support departmental revenue, profitability and commercial performance.
  • Build strong relationships with guests and clients, personalising experiences and exceeding expectations.
  • Support labour management, rostering and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service, revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Uphold HACCP, WHS, Accor and MGallery standards across all operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing events, conferences, weddings or functions.
  • Proven Food & Beverage leadership experience, with a background in luxury hotels, premium venues or high-volume hospitality environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and banquet operations.
  • The ability to lead, coach and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience in labour management and financial reporting advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable experiences.
  • A calm, organised and solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Flexible availability across a 7-day operation, including weekends and peak periods.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
