We're looking for an experienced and energetic Venue Manager to lead The Brewery Bar + Kitchen, our vibrant pub-style venue located in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park. On a typical day, you'll be overseeing a busy food and beverage operation serving locals, hotel guests and event attendees. On event days, you'll be taking things to the next level as The Brewery transforms into a major hospitality destination featuring DJs, multiple beverage stations, extended trading areas, and thousands of guests flowing through the precinct. This is the perfect role for a strong operator who loves the challenge of high-volume hospitality, thrives under pressure, and can seamlessly switch from leading service on the floor to coordinating large-scale event logistics behind the scenes. As Venue Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall success of the venue ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, gaming compliance, and an engaged, high performing team culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day operations of the venue including food, beverage, gaming and entertainment.
- Lead, coach and develop a high performing team while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Drive exceptional guest experiences and maintain consistently high service standards.
- Liaise with local council and relevant authorities to obtain approvals for venue extensions and event activations.
- Coordinate security providers and ensure compliance of security personnel during large events.
- Arrange agency staff and workforce requirements to support peak trading periods and major events.
- Drive venue promotions, working closely with Sales & Marketing on venue activations and promotional campaigns.
Requirements
- Previous experience as Venue Manager, Operations Manager or similar
- Experience managing high volume hospitality venues such as pubs or large scale event operations
- Strong understanding of liquor licensing, gaming compliance and responsible service requirements
- Experience coordinating large events and entertainment programs
- Current NSW RSA & RCG certificate
- Current NSW Forklift license or willingness to obtain
- Full working rights in Australia
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and on major event days
- Comfortable with the physical aspect of the role.
