The Banquet Captain at Ocotillo Golf Club oversees and coordinates all aspects of banquet and event operations. This role requires a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to ensure seamless execution of events, from setup to breakdown. The captain supervises banquet staff, collaborates with event planners and clients, and ensures high-quality service throughout each event.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate all aspects of banquet and event operations, ensuring the successful execution of each event.
Collaborate with event planners, clients, and internal teams to understand event requirements and expectations.
Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff.
Provide clear instructions and guidance to ensure the team delivers exceptional service.
Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, ensuring proper placement of tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
Conduct pre-event inspections to ensure all details are in place.
Interact with clients and guests to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Train and mentor banquet staff on service standards, procedures, and customer interaction.
Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate event details and expectations.
Monitor the quality of food and beverage service to ensure it meets or exceeds standards.
Address any service-related issues and implement improvements as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar supervisory role in the hospitality industry.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of food and beverage service and event planning.
