Event Operations Team Member

This role involves supporting event operations at the Melton Student Center and Student Activities Center, including setting up and breaking down events, arranging furniture and equipment, and providing audio-visual support. The team member will assist with cleaning spaces, read room set-up diagrams, and attend mandatory meetings and trainings. The position requires a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude, with availability for weekdays, weekends, and nights.

Responsibilities

• Move and arrange furniture and equipment needed for various customer events, including tables, chairs, staging, and podiums
• Assist building staff with cleaning spaces before and after events
• Assist with audio-visual set-up including data projectors, microphones, and speakers for events in the Student Center
• Understand how to read diagrams and room set-up sheets and be able to set up spaces according to those diagrams
• Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings
• Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed in provided uniforms, presenting a professional appearance and enthusiastic team attitude

Requirements

• Enrolled student at Auburn University
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
• An outgoing person willing to engage with customer population
• Applicants must be available to work weekdays and weekends, including mornings and evenings
• Ability to work in team environment
• Ability to lift heavy equipment (25lbs or greater)
• Previous event operations experience
• Knowledge of large audio-visual systems
• Possess some working knowledge of audio-visual equipment

Nice to have

• Must be available to work nights and weekends. Availability to work during semester breaks preferred.
