The Development and Events Manager is a key member of the Austin Habitat for Humanity Development and Engagement Department. They manage all elements of AHFH's annual signature fundraising event and other fundraising and donor-focused events. They are also key in cultivating individual donor relationships and growing AHFH's individual donor base.

Responsibilities

  • Manage annual signature fundraising event, including fundraising, event steering committee, location, logistics, marketing and communications, and programming
  • Work collaboratively with development team to execute engaging and memorable donor-focused events (e.g. Women Build kick-off event)
  • Work closely with Chief Development Officer, Senior Development Manager, Director of Development to develop and implement strategies for attaining event revenue goals
  • Establish and maintain relationships with event vendors and venues
  • Maintain portfolio of event sponsors and donors
  • Work cross-departmentally with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure events are on-brand, in-sync with organizational messaging and include rich storytelling
  • Project Management: create and maintain detailed event timelines, establish and dictate roles and responsibilities, and manage event expense budgets
  • Work with Director of Development and Sr. Development Manager to implement an individual donor cultivation plan to increase donor engagement and increase giving
  • Work with VP of Engagement to cultivate volunteers and convert them to donors
  • Maintain portfolio of high-potential, highly engaged, entry level individual donors
  • Work with Donor Stewardship Coordinator to ensure donors are thanked and engaged in meaningful ways.
  • Collaborate with Donor Stewardship Coordinator to identify and research high-potential donors and prospects
  • Speak to groups of volunteers and donors clearly articulating AHFH’s impact and ways to further engage in the organization’s mission
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Other duties to support organizational priorities as assigned

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. or B.B.A. Degree
  • At least 3 years of professional fundraising, event planning, corporate and individual donor stewardship experience
  • Strong written and verbal negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive and work effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment
  • Fluency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM, and project management software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve, and multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build meaningful trust-based relationships with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders
  • Outstanding project management skill
