The company is seeking an energetic and polished Banquet Server to join the banquet team at its mountain resort property in Heber City, Utah. The role exists to deliver flawless, memorable experiences for guests at events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations, serving plated dinners in the ballroom and supporting corporate luncheons. The server sets up and breaks down banquet rooms and event spaces, serves food and beverages with proper etiquette, maintains menu knowledge, monitors and responds to guest needs, and adheres to Utah liquor laws and responsible alcohol service. The position works closely with the Banquet Captain, Event Manager, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless event execution, and requires availability for a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders and resort standards, including linen placement, table settings, centerpieces, and buffet arrangements.
  • Provide professional, attentive, and friendly service to all banquet guests throughout the event.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and accurate manner, following proper service etiquette and sequence.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu for each event, including ingredients and preparation methods, to confidently answer guest questions.
  • Monitor guest needs throughout the event and respond proactively to requests and concerns.
  • Replenish food and beverage stations, bread, water, and other items as needed throughout service.
  • Adhere to all UDABC policies and Utah liquor laws, including responsible alcohol service and 100% ID check compliance.
  • Break down and clean banquet spaces at the conclusion of each event, returning equipment and linens to their proper locations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Banquet Captain, Event Manager, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate to the Banquet Captain or director as needed.
  • Assist with inventory of banquet supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Banquet Captain or Food and Beverage Director.

Requirements

  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed event orders and work well within a team.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol as required by Utah state law, or willingness to obtain applicable certifications.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as event schedules require.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced event environment.

Nice to have

  • Previous banquet, catering, or restaurant serving experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with proper food and beverage service etiquette preferred.
