The Events Lead will support the production of purposeful, engaging events that build trust in government and connect New Yorkers. Responsibilities include event logistical production, vendor sourcing, supplies procurement, staff training, guest ticketing, and day-of-event coordination. The role is part of the Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement Events Team, focused on demystifying government and celebrating NYC's cultural fabric.

Responsibilities

  • - Supporting the production of purposeful, engaging events that build people’s trust in government, build connections between New Yorkers, and create meaningful opportunities for feedback and follow-up.
  • - Supporting event logistical production including location and vendor sourcing, supplies procurement, staff training, and guest ticketing.
  • - Coordinating day-of-event needs including supervision and execution of load in/out and on-site staff and volunteers.
  • - Other duties as required.

  • - You are organized, meticulous, and don’t get overwhelmed by many moving pieces.
  • - You are oriented towards customer service or hospitality – you’ll go out of your way to make sure a guest or participant has a great experience.
  • - You are a creative problem solver who views constraints as an opportunity instead of an obstacle.
  • - You are curious and comfortable asking questions.
  • 1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?
  • 2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?
  • 3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?
  • 4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?

Nice to have

  • - You may be especially well-suited to this role if you have experience in creative event production, theater/live performance events, training and facilitation, or hospitality.
