You will be the trusted point of contact guests rely on, coordinating every detail to bring their vision to life. Own the on-site experience from start to finish — building detailed checklists and itineraries, then bringing them to life on the day. You'll think on your feet to solve problems as they arise, keeping events running smoothly. As the go-to contact for clients, vendors, and meeting planners, you will coordinate every moving piece and ensure each event is executed flawlessly. This is a part-time role.
Responsibilities
- Design, confirm, and communicate room layouts and set-up requirements for special events.
- Enter and retrieve information contained in computer databases using a keyboard, mouse, or trackball to update records, files, and reservations.
- Transmit information or documents using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
- Operate standard office equipment other than computers.
- Prepare weekly departmental payroll paperwork.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Responsible for all on-site details for executing group events, develop and follow checklist/itinerary, and troubleshoot event problems.
- Serve as liaison and contact person for coordinating details of events with clients, outside vendors, meeting planners, and others involved in events.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and to work under pressure.
- Customer service experience
- Strong efficiency in spoken and written English Language
- Experience in a similar role for at least 1 year
- Sound knowledge of hospitality, food and beverage or banquet operations
- Proven ability in people management and ability to lead teams under pressure
- Current RSA
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings when required, weekends/public holidays
