Delaware North Australia is hiring a full-time Senior Events Manager to join the team at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In this role, you will lead a team of Event Managers, build strong client relationships, and drive exceptional guest experiences while identifying opportunities to grow revenue and maximise event success. You will plan and deliver corporate and special events at one of the world's most recognised sporting and entertainment venues, working primarily business hours.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Event Managers to deliver outstanding corporate and special events from planning through to execution
- Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to enhance event experiences and maximise venue utilisation
- Build trusted relationships with clients, venue partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Provide strategic event direction, ensuring events are commercially successful and aligned with client objectives
- Own event budgets, forecasting, reporting, and financial performance
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
Requirements
- Extensive experience in event management across a range of event types and sizes
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, with clear and confident communication abilities
- Proven success delivering high-profile events and exceptional guest experiences
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, revenue opportunities, and business performance
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, guide, and build lasting client relationships
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Experience with event management software such as Momentus/Ungerboeck or similar will be highly regarded
- Hospitality, events, marketing, or related tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
