The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet rooms, reviewing event orders, and ensuring rooms are prepared according to contract. They maintain cleanliness and safety standards, communicate with the Event Manager about special needs, and provide excellent dining service to guests by delivering items, fulfilling needs, and replenishing supplies. The role requires a service-oriented attitude, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Review Event Orders (EO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted.
  • Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for before guests arrive.
  • Be in communication with the Event Manager regarding any special needs or concerns.
  • Ensure proper use, storage and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Venue.
  • Room Set up and Break down.
  • Ensure that rooms are re-set for next event contract if it is within one day of previous event. If not, 2 sample tables should be set for client tours.
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Undertake any reasonable task and secondary duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High degree of service orientation, positive attitude and ability to multi task.
  • Able to work independently as well as work as part of a team.
  • Candidate must be dependable and reliable.
  • Outstanding people skills.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, guests and management.
  • To report for shift punctually and in proper dress code.
  • To attend training and meetings as and when required.
  • High school diploma and or equivalent
