La conseillère ou le conseiller, Commandites et activités, est responsable de planifier et de mettre en œuvre les activités de YEG destinées à favoriser l'engagement envers la marque, la réputation et les résultats commerciaux au sein de ses communautés partenaires et de la région. La personne titulaire de ce poste veillera à promouvoir l'engagement de l'aéroport envers des activités communautaires, gouvernementales et commerciales clés par le biais de commandites, de soutien en nature et de participation afin d'améliorer les relations, de faire progresser les objectifs de l'entreprise et d'organiser des activités très médiatisées qui contribuent aux objectifs de l'aéroport. Cette personne participera également à la planification d'activités clés de YEG. La conseillère ou le conseiller, Commandites et activités, agira comme personne-ressource auprès des partenaires communautaires, notamment les organismes sans but lucratif, les partenaires municipaux, les associations commerciales et d'autres partenaires connexes. La personne retenue pour cette fonction gérera les budgets, les fournisseurs partenaires, le matériel de communication ainsi que les mesures d'évaluation et la rédaction des rapports afin de démontrer les résultats commerciaux, et ce, conformément à la stratégie de YEG et de ZVL.

Responsibilities

  • Align sponsorships and partnerships with Edmonton Airports’ strategy and business plan.
  • Liaise with business units to identify partnership engagement opportunities, to ensure continuous improvement of current practices and programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, communities and organizations of strategic interest.
  • Develop and implement the sponsorship and events criteria: intake, evaluation criteria, approvals, and execution of sponsorships (cash and in-kind).
  • Plan, manage and produce events from concept through logistics, vendor oversight, risk assessments and post-event reporting. Two core events are the Annual Public Meeting and the YEG Charity Golf Classic. In addition, specific event support is required for air service development, including inaugural flight events and execution of key sponsorships to drive awareness and flight booking goals.
  • Prepare budgets, track spending, secure approvals and report on ROI; coordinate in-kind facility use and team member support.
  • Lead sponsorships and partnerships in alignment with our business plan including contract management, agreements, release forms and collaboration with our legal business unit.
  • Reporting quarterly on sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Work closely with the communications team to promote, highlight and message our partnership program.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, recommendations and direct support in the development and implementation of external engagement plans, strategies and tactics.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in related field - marketing, communications, event planning or equivalent
  • 3–7 years’ experience in leading sponsorships or events — preferably in a public sector, transportation or large civic institution.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors and multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong written/verbal communications; comfort briefing senior leaders and working with elected officials.
  • Project and event management experience (logistics, safety/risk assessments, supplier management).
  • Partner engagement and diplomacy (neighbours, community organizations and government).
  • Metrics and evaluation mindset — able to measure ROI and report to leadership/board.
  • Flexibility for evenings/weekends (events) and on-site coordination.
  • Familiarity with sponsorship agreements and in-kind valuation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize ever-changing deadlines
  • Ability to stay abreast of current airport and community events
  • Ability to work independently and display decision-making skills
  • Must secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal records checks
