The Mitchell & Ness Event Manager is responsible for independently planning, managing, and executing community-driven events, brand activations, and cultural experiences that represent the Mitchell & Ness brand across major sports leagues. This role serves as the primary project owner for assigned events, working cross-functionally with Creative, Marketing, Retail, PR, and Brand teams to translate strategic objectives into impactful consumer connections that drive brand awareness and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Partner cross-functionally with Creative, Retail, Marketing, PR, and Social teams to align event strategies with Mitchell & Ness brand and business objectives, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment without formal authority.
- Coordinate external vendors, agencies, and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of event requirements, serving as the primary liaison across all production partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams on event-related content creation opportunities, including photography, videography, and brand storytelling, to amplify event impact across channels.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with local community leaders, cultural influencers, creatives, partners, and organizations that authentically connect with the Mitchell & Ness brand and its fan community.
- Lead the planning and execution of local and regional events and activations that celebrate iconic athletes, legendary moments, and the intersection of sport, fashion, and culture.
- Manage all guest experience elements — including venues, staffing, permits, equipment, transportation, and catering — to ensure every event reflects the premium standard of the Mitchell & Ness brand.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to elevate brand awareness through local partnerships, cultural moments, and community engagement initiatives.
- Identify emerging community engagement opportunities and cultural moments that create meaningful new touchpoints for the Mitchell & Ness brand.
- Troubleshoot issues in real time during on-site event execution, applying sound judgment and creative problem-solving to maintain flawless brand representation.
- Measure event performance against defined objectives and provide data-informed recommendations to improve future activations and experiences.
- Continuously evaluate event production processes and vendor relationships to improve efficiency, quality, and brand impact.
- Own assigned events end-to-end, managing timelines, logistics, budgets, vendor coordination, and operational execution from concept through post-event evaluation.
- Monitor event budgets and expenses rigorously, ensuring all programs are delivered efficiently and within approved financial parameters.
- Lead on-site event execution with a high standard of professionalism, maintaining composure and decisive action in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, travel, and extended hours as required to support Mitchell & Ness events and campaigns.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience managing events, brand activations, experiential marketing programs, community engagement initiatives, or related experiences, with a demonstrated track record of independently leading events from planning through execution.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, budgets, and timelines simultaneously across local and regional programs.
- Experience coordinating vendors, venues, agencies, and external partners to ensure timely and high-quality event delivery.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment without formal authority.
- Professional presence and sound judgment when representing the Mitchell & Ness brand in public-facing, community, and cultural environments.
- Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, and make confident decisions in fast-paced event settings.
- Genuine passion for sports culture, heritage brands, community engagement, and experiential marketing, with willingness to travel as business needs require.
