The Banquet Bartender provides professional beverage service during hotel events such as banquets, meetings, weddings, conferences, and special functions. This guest-facing role involves setting up and stocking banquet bars, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, verifying guest age, monitoring consumption, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout events. The bartender also handles transactions, communicates with event staff, assists with inventory control, and breaks down service areas after functions. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and moving throughout event spaces to support service needs and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Set up banquet bars and beverage stations before events, ensuring all supplies, glassware, garnishes, mixers, and inventory are properly stocked.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel standards, recipes, and service guidelines
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to guests during banquets, meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events.
- Verify guest age and identification in compliance with state and local alcohol service regulations.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, including bar equipment, counters, and service stations.
- Replenish beverages, ice, glassware, and supplies throughout events to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Accurately process drink tickets, cash transactions, or event-specific billing procedures as required.
- Communicate effectively with banquet staff, servers, kitchen personnel, and management to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist with inventory control by tracking beverage usage and notifying management of supply needs.
- Transport beverage supplies, glassware, and equipment to and from event locations throughout the hotel property.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, questions, and service concerns.
- Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
- Break down banquet bars and service areas following events, properly storing inventory and equipment.
- Assist with banquet setup and teardown duties as needed to support overall event success.
- Maintain knowledge of beverage offerings, wines, beers, cocktails, and event-specific drink menus.
- Support a positive guest experience by creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering exceptional hospitality.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age. Two or more years’ experience as Bartender preferred. “TIPS” or equivalent certification. Must be skilled in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor.
