The Event Director will lead the end-to-end growth and delivery of ViVE, a major digital health event. This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall success of the event, including strategy, execution, revenue growth, audience development, strategic partnerships, operational delivery, and team leadership. The director will own the full P&L, drive commercial performance, and strengthen ViVE's position as the premier gathering for digital health leaders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall event strategy and execution for ViVE across marketing, sales, content, operations, strategic partnerships, and hosted buyer programs—ensuring alignment with the evolving US healthcare and health technology landscape
- Own and continuously evolve the master project plans for event, ensuring alignment across all functions and managing event timeline
- Run agile project cycles and “sprints” to deliver key milestones and drive momentum across overlapping event cycles
- Inspire, manage, and develop a cross-functional team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Be hands-on in delivery—comfortable executing as well as leading
- Own and deliver the full event revenue for ViVE across sponsorship, exhibition, hosted buyer meetings, and delegate ticket sales
- Work closely with the sales team to maximize all revenue opportunities and optimize performance across both events
- Actively contribute to sales, including closing high-value sponsorship deals with global healthcare brands
- Collaborate with Head of Growth on pipeline management, sales reporting, and forecasting across dual revenue streams
- Lead internal stakeholders to evolve sponsorship inventory, including creating innovative, high-value commercial opportunities that leverage the ViVE audience
- Continuously enhance ViVE to ensure they remain industry-leading
- Identify and implement new ideas across pricing models, content formats, audience experiences, and partnerships
- Stay ahead of US healthcare trends including digital health, AI, payer/provider dynamics, health equity, and policy developments shaping the future of healthcare
- Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring both events deliver exceptional value for all stakeholders
- Leverage insights and best practices to drive continuous improvement
- Continuously evolve ViVE's executive-level experiences, hosted buyer programs, networking formats, and specialty content areas to increase attendee value and sponsor ROI
- Serve as the primary executive lead for the CHIME partnership, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities, audience growth, content development, and long-term value creation
- Build and maintain senior relationships with key industry stakeholders in healthcare and health technology, including health systems, payers, pharma, medtech, digital health companies, investors, and associations
- Identify and secure new strategic partnerships to expand the reach and influence of both events
- Act as an ambassador for ViVE within the US and global healthcare and technology ecosystem
- Own the full P&L for ViVE, ensuring strong financial performance and profitability
- Manage cost control, budgeting, and team spend across dual event budgets
- Deliver accurate and timely revenue forecasting across all revenue streams
- Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on performance, market conditions, and macroeconomic factors affecting the US healthcare sector
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of the US healthcare, healthcare technology, or digital health landscape.
- A strong understanding of providers, payers, health systems, health IT vendors, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.
- A minimum of seven years' experience leading large-scale conferences, exhibitions, or complex commercial event portfolios.
- At least five years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- A proven track record of owning and exceeding ambitious commercial and profitability targets.
- Experience negotiating and closing enterprise-level sponsorship agreements.
- Experience managing strategic partnerships with associations, industry bodies, or co-creation partners.
- Experience launching, scaling, or transforming event products within the US market.
- Strong commercial acumen with confidence interpreting financial reports, forecasts, and business performance metrics.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive and C-suite audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to lead by example.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required throughout the event lifecycle.
