The Event Specialist | Attendee Acquisition will drive IDC's event audience strategy through data-led attendee recruitment, end-to-end event execution, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves managing the complete attendee recruitment lifecycle, from strategy to outreach, conversion, and onsite engagement, while ensuring data accuracy and audience insights. The specialist will lead outreach campaigns targeting senior IT and business decision-makers, recruit advisory council members and end-user speakers, and collaborate with marketing, content, and operations teams to align messaging and goals. The role also includes tracking and reporting recruitment metrics to optimize campaign performance and ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete attendee recruitment lifecycle – from strategy to outreach, conversion, and onsite engagement.
- Oversee and maintain data accuracy, segmentation, and audience insights to improve recruitment quality.
- Lead outreach campaigns targeting senior IT and business decision-makers across industries.
- Recruit and manage advisory council members and end-user speakers, ensuring diversity and thought leadership alignment.
- Identify and grow new audience segments and contacts through digital and direct channels.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, content, and operations teams to align messaging, timelines, and engagement goals.
- Track, analyze, and report recruitment metrics to optimize campaign performance and ROI.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards in all audience activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in event marketing, audience recruitment, or delegate acquisition.
- Proven ability to execute multi-channel attendee recruitment campaigns (email, telemarketing, digital).
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools (Cvent, Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially in managing senior-level speakers and advisory members.
- Strong data orientation and ability to interpret analytics for decision-making.
- Results-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travel: Up to 40% for event support and onsite execution.
