The Wedding Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between Immanuel Church and couples seeking to hold their wedding ceremony at the church. This role coordinates all aspects of wedding planning and logistics related to the church facility, ensuring ceremonies are conducted in accordance with church policies. The coordinator manages inquiries, facility scheduling, wedding preparation, and event oversight, working closely with church staff and vendors. This position reports to the Executive Minister and Administrator and requires in-person work at the Lakeside Park campus.

Responsibilities

  • Wedding Inquiry and Approval Process
  • a. Serve as the primary point of contact for engaged couples interested in holding their wedding ceremony at Immanuel Church.
  • b. Communicate with prospective couples to review church wedding policies and determine eligibility based on established criteria.
  • c. Assist couples in completing the Wedding Application and ensure all required information is submitted for pastoral review and approval.
  • d. Communicate approval status and next steps to the couple.
  • Facility Scheduling and Coordination
  • a. Submit requests for the reservation of church facilities, including the sanctuary, rehearsal spaces, dressing rooms, and other designated areas.
  • b. Ensure all wedding-related events are accurately entered and maintained on the church calendar.
  • c. Coordinate scheduling with church staff to avoid conflicts and ensure facility availability.
  • d. Develop and communicate the rehearsal and wedding-day timeline to all participating church staff and volunteers.
  • Wedding Planning and Preparation
  • a. Meet with the bride and groom approximately three months prior to the wedding date to review and finalize ceremony details.
  • b. Coordinate with pastors, musicians, custodial staff, audio/visual personnel, and other church staff as needed.
  • c. Work closely with florists, photographers, videographers, and other vendors to ensure compliance with church guidelines and smooth execution of wedding plans.
  • d. Confirm timelines, facility access, setup requirements, and special arrangements.
  • Event Oversight
  • a. Attend and oversee wedding rehearsals as needed.
  • b. Serve as the on-site church representative on the wedding day.
  • c. Develop and communicate the rehearsal and wedding-day timeline to all
  • d. participating church staff and volunteers.
  • e. Exercise sound judgement to resolve any wedding-related issues that arise before, during, or immediately following the ceremony.
  • f. Ensure that church facilities are used appropriately and left in acceptable condition after the event.
  • Communication and Administration
  • a. Maintain accurate wedding records, schedules, and correspondence.
  • b. Provide timely communication to couples, church staff, pastors, and vendors.
  • c. Ensure all parties involved are informed of schedules, expectations, and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Be a growing Christian, deepening his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as Savior and Lord, and modeling this faith relationship to others (1 Timothy 3:1-13). This must include a visible commitment to prayer, submission to the authority of Scripture, and dedication to living out the truth of God’s Word (2 Tim 3:16).
  • Be willing to support realization of the church’s vision, mission, core values, and biblical priorities.

  • TIME COMMITMENT
  • Hours will vary based on the wedding schedule and seasonal demand. Evening and weekend availability is required for rehearsals and wedding ceremonies.
