The Sales Manager – Banquets & Events is responsible for generating, developing, and securing event and banquet business for the Adobe Bar & Grille. This role focuses on increasing event revenue through proactive sales efforts, responding to inquiries, conducting property tours, developing proposals, and building relationships with prospective and existing clients. The Sales Manager serves as the primary sales contact from initial inquiry through booking and works closely with the Banquet Manager and other departments to ensure a smooth transition from sales to event planning and execution. Success is measured by meeting or exceeding quarterly sales goals and generating bookings.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new event and banquet business, including weddings, corporate events, golf outings and tournaments, celebrations, holiday parties, meetings, and other private events.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, event and wedding planners, community groups, and other potential referral sources.
  • Maintain relationships with past clients to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Identify opportunities to increase event volume, revenue, and utilization of available event spaces.
  • Participate in networking, community, and promotional activities that support event sales.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies designed to meet established event revenue goals.
  • While the peak event season typically runs from October through April/May, the Director is expected to proactively seek opportunities to increase bookings and revenue during the off-season months.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to event inquiries and sales leads.
  • Qualify prospective clients to understand event needs, dates, budget, attendance, and expectations.
  • Conduct property tours and present the Adobe’s event spaces, amenities, food and beverage options, golf opportunities, and services.
  • Prepare proposals, packages, pricing, and event agreements.
  • Conduct consistent and timely follow-up with prospective clients to convert inquiries into confirmed business.
  • Obtain signed agreements, deposits, and other required information in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, tentative bookings, confirmed events, lost business, and follow-up activity.
  • Serve as the sales contact for clients and potential clients.
  • Build positive client relationships by providing responsive, professional, and personalized service.
  • Clearly communicate pricing, packages, policies, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the event experience and increase revenue through appropriate upgrades and additional services.
  • Maintain communication with clients during the sales and booking process to ensure expectations are clearly understood.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely event information to the Banquet Manager and other appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate the transition of confirmed events from sales to operational planning and execution.
  • Participate in event meetings as appropriate to communicate client expectations, special requests, and significant event details.
  • Communicate changes that may impact staffing, food and beverage, room setup, golf operations, or other departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Banquet Manager while maintaining clear accountability between sales and event operations.
  • Work toward established event sales, booking, and revenue goals.
  • Maintain an organized and active sales pipeline.
  • Track lead sources and conversion of inquiries to confirmed events.
  • Monitor future bookings and identify periods where additional sales efforts are needed.
  • Provide management with regular reports regarding sales activity, leads, conversions, booked revenue, future business, and lost opportunities.
  • Review event results and client feedback to identify opportunities for repeat business and continued improvement,
  • Actively participates in meetings and training session.
  • Drafts and formats memos, emails, and reports in accordance with Company guidelines and protocols.
  • Performs all other related duties, as assigned. May be requested to assist with projects from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in event, banquet, hospitality, catering, venue, hotel, restaurant, golf club, or related sales preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, client relationship management, or event coordination strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a golf club, country club, resort, hotel, or similar hospitality environment is a plus.
  • Strong sales and business development skills with the ability to actively generate new business.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional and confident presentation skills, including the ability to conduct property tours and meet with prospective clients.
  • Strong follow-up skills with the ability to move leads through the sales process to confirmed bookings.
  • Ability to develop proposals, communicate pricing, and explain event packages and services.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple leads and events simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate sales and client information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with banquet, food and beverage, golf, culinary, and other Company departments.
  • Strong customer service and hospitality mindset.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities, deadlines, and client requests professionally.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Skilled at active listening, retaining knowledge and acting upon it.

  • Ability to use BEO and POS systems.
  • Ability to use MS Office – MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (Email).
  • Ability to use employee self-service on company’s human resources/payroll database
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.
  • Position may utilize golf carts; thus, must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
