The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising, stewardship, and signature events for the Advancement department. This role involves partnering with leadership to design compelling in-person events, managing vendor relationships, overseeing event logistics and staff, and tracking event data using Raiser's Edge. The position aims to strengthen donor engagement, enhance community outreach, and support the organization's fundraising objectives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with organizational leadership to conceptualize and design compelling in-person events that engage JFS's growing donor base
- Create, manage, and execute detailed work plans for all assigned events, from concept to completion
- Oversee vendor relationships, including reviewing and tracking contracts and managing communications
- Manage event logistics and staff to ensure successful day-of execution and attendee experience
- Track event-related data, metrics, and donor engagement using Raiser's Edge
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership and internal teams throughout the event planning process
- Ensure events support fundraising objectives and enhance donor stewardship efforts
- Implement strategic seating arrangements for special events, balancing guest preferences, organizational priorities, and logistical considerations as well as handling last-minute changes with discretion and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in planning and executing successful in-person events
- Strong background in vendor management and coordination of event logistics
- Demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles and donor engagement strategies
- Prior experience supervising staff or volunteers during events
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and project management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Raiser's Edge or a comparable donor database system
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
