The Rentals Coordinator at John Ball Zoo is responsible for coordinating and executing assigned rentals, including weddings, corporate events, and after-hours functions at the Bissell Tree House and other zoo spaces. This role involves supervising, training, and scheduling seasonal team members, managing bar services, and supporting zoo events. The coordinator works with guest service departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences and contributes to the zoo's mission of conservation and education.

Responsibilities

  • The Rentals Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the coordination and successful execution of assigned rentals at John Ball Zoo. The Rentals Coordinator works in conjunction with all Guest Service Departments to achieve John Ball Zoo’s total guest service objectives. The Rentals Coordinator will oversee the sales and execution of wedding, corporate, after hours, and other Zoo related rentals at the Bissell Tree House, and various spaces around the zoo. They will also supervise, train, and schedule seasonal front-line team members to assure successful execution of rentals, while also supporting Zoo events as necessary. The Rentals Coordinator will also be responsible for the management of bar services at rentals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in working in wedding based settings is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer services position is preferred
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage work teams to support organizational objectives and goals.
  • Excellent customer service skills, comfortable and skilled in creating positive face-to-face interactions.
  • Some sales ability to assure proper closing of various rentals activities.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to promote and sell Zoo Rentals.
  • Ability to monitor budgets and reconcile balances.
  • Proficiency in Point of Service software applications, cash register operations, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evening, weekends and holidays.
