As an Event Manager Associate within the CIB EMEA Investment Banking Event Marketing team, you will lead the planning and execution of high-profile client events across the region, including conferences, forums, roundtables, and bespoke strategic initiatives. You will manage events end-to-end, from concept to completion, partnering with Investment Banking stakeholders, internal control functions, and external vendors to deliver commercially relevant and compliant experiences. This role offers the opportunity to lead independent projects, contribute to flagship programmes, and drive continuous improvement across the event lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of Investment Banking events, including conferences, forums, roundtables, client hospitality, internal leadership meetings, and bespoke strategic programmes across EMEA.
- Act as the sole planner on selected events while collaborating with colleagues on larger, multi-workstream projects and flagship programmes.
- Partner with Investment Banking business stakeholders to define event objectives, target audiences, agenda structure, messaging, client experience, and success measures.
- Manage end-to-end project plans, timelines, budgets, approvals, risk logs, stakeholder updates, and post-event reconciliation or reporting.
- Manage budgets and negotiate costs with venues, agencies, speakers, production partners, caterers, and other suppliers to deliver quality, value, and cost control.
- Instruct and manage internal and external vendors, ensuring high standards of delivery, service, brand alignment, and operational excellence.
- Oversee invitation strategy, registration, client data, delegate management, communications, briefing materials, speaker logistics, and onsite delivery.
- Ensure adherence to firm policies, controls, procurement requirements, brand standards, data handling expectations, and relevant industry regulations.
- Support J.P. Morgan activity throughout EMEA, adapting delivery approach to local market requirements, stakeholder needs, and cultural considerations.
- Deliver high-quality output under tight deadlines, adapting to dynamic priorities and supporting early mornings, evenings, and travel as business needs require.
- Advocate for innovation, continuous improvement, inclusive collaboration, and consistent best practice across Investment Banking Event Marketing.
Requirements
- Experience in event management, event marketing, client engagement, or a related corporate marketing discipline.
- Experience in a global financial services, professional services, corporate, or high-touch client service environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, stakeholders, budgets, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, succinct, and senior-ready messages.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to advise, influence, and build credibility with business partners and internal functions.
- Comfortable using event technology, registration platforms, workflow systems, budget tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, ownership, high integrity, and the ability to manage risk and escalation appropriately.
- Highly motivated, flexible, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to have
- Experience delivering Investment Banking, senior client, board-level, leadership, or thought-leadership events.
- Understanding of Investment Banking products, sector coverage, corporate client engagement, and the EMEA business environment.
