The Senior Manager, Security Infrastructure & Technology will assist in developing and implementing all LA28 Venue Security Infrastructure plans, including fencing, barriers, hostile vehicle mitigation, search and screening equipment, security lighting, CCTV, drones, and access control. This role ensures construction and installation plans are integrated with LA28 Venues and Infrastructure, and serves as a main point of contact for Venue Security Infrastructure into the wider Games Security ecosystem. The position requires close collaboration with stakeholders to develop and implement approved security infrastructure plans.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Integration: In collaboration with members of the Safety and Security Team, key LA28 Functional Areas (FAs,) Venue Partners, and Public Safety Agencies, develop comprehensive Venue Security Infrastructure plans that provide the highest level of Security while minimizing impacts to critical event operations. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners (construction teams, public safety, private contractors and suppliers) to create unified and integrated security plans. Serve as the main point of contact/liaison for the Safety & Security Department with key functional areas, Venue contacts, government/public safety agencies, as required.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Contribute to risk and Venue assessments to identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and oversee implementation of approved security plans. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as international best practices for event security.
- Operational Coordination: Act as the primary representative of the Safety and Security Department, oversee and deliver the LA28 approved Security Operations Plans at assigned Venue(s) and ensure adherence to all approved LA28 Policies and Procedures at Olympic and Paralympic Venues at Games time. Complete regular status reports, incident reports, and project status reports as required. As a key member of the planning team, this position will also take on other assigned tasks as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between LA28 Functional Areas, Delivery Partners, Public Safety and Security Agencies, and the Safety and Security Department, as assigned. Foster collaboration, teamwork and information-sharing. Manage relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies, regulatory entities, state/regional traffic management organizations, and service providers.
- Project Management: Chair planning meetings or working groups, as assigned, to ensure timely delivery of milestones and deliverables. Complete regular status reports, draft and share meeting notes and agendas, and draft policy and procedure documents, as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced, multi-venue safety/security position.
- Experience in Venue Security Infrastructure specification and design.
- Strong construction management and project management experience.
- Proven success in cross functional security planning and collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of CCTV placement planning and how security equipment requirements tie into the larger Games technology infrastructure
- Familiarity with spectrum deconfliction and radio fleet mapping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
Nice to have
- Experience working in major league sporting stadiums is strongly preferred.
- Experience in event security, specifically international, multi-sport events is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with the federal, state or local government is preferred.
- Experience in multi-Venue event security planning or large-scale project management is preferred.
- Passion for sports, community engagement, or involvement in large-scale events.
