Lead Software & Platform Engineering

This Lead Software Engineer role focuses on building and evolving the Reflex platform, an intent-based automation platform for multi-cloud connectivity. You will design and implement cloud-native microservices, develop APIs and orchestration logic, and integrate with various network and cloud services. The role involves leading engineering standards, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with product owners and architects to deliver scalable, automated network provisioning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop microservices-based backend systems for Reflex
• Build and maintain intent-based APIs and orchestration logic
• Implement event-driven workflows for network service automation
• Develop abstract service models (VPC connectivity, VLANs, routing, etc.)
• Integrate northbound with: UI layer ServiceNow / business APIs
• Integrate southbound with: Network services (DNS, IPAM, firewalls, LB) Cloud networking constructs
• Deliver Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines
• Develop/refine UI applications (Vue.js / Quasar)
• Enable self-service workflows for Cloud Ops users
• Define high-level system design and architecture
• Ensure scalability for global multi-tenant environments
• Apply distributed system best practices
• Mentor junior engineers
• Drive engineering standards and design patterns
• Work closely with Product Owners and Architects

Requirements

• Java (strong expertise)
• Spring Boot
• Hibernate

• REST API design (extensible, versioned APIs)

• Modern frameworks: Vue.js + Quasar (preferred) OR React / Angular (with willingness to learn Vue)
• Microservices architecture
• Event-driven systems (Kafka, messaging patterns)
• Distributed systems debugging
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• PostgreSQL
• Strong SQL expertise
• Data modelling for distributed systems
• Git (version control)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, HTTP DNS, IPAM Routing, VLANs
• Cloud networking: VPC/VNet connectivity Private connectivity (Direct Connect / ExpressRoute)
• Network automation & orchestration platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate business intent → technical implementation
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability systems
