The Meetings & Events Catering Sales Manager drives catering revenue by soliciting new business and maintaining strong client relationships. This proactive sales role maximizes revenue from catering events through food and beverage sales, room rental, audio visual services and other ancillary offerings. The manager oversees the sales and contract negotiation process, ensuring all event details, concessions, financial commitments and client expectations are clearly documented. After contract execution, events are transitioned to the Meetings & Events Servicing Manager for planning and operational execution, ensuring a seamless client experience and successful event delivery.

Responsibilities

  • · Handle inquiry calls, proposals, negotiations, and contracts according to departmental procedures
  • · Schedule and conduct site inspections and provide assistance to any walk-in clients insuring each guest leaves with a positive impression
  • · Selling event and private dining space using departmental policy and procedures.
  • · Actively prospect for new corporate and social catering business and utilize creative methods to close business while maintaining existing relationships with current accounts
  • · Responsible for developing a sales strategy for achieving quarterly and yearly goals
  • · Meet weekly, monthly and quarterly solicitation goals
  • · Create and distribute clear and communicative turn over documents.
  • · Notate contracted event space, deposit schedules and food and beverage minimums in Delphi.
  • · Support Servicing Manager when program is on site to build relationship contact
  • · Ability to creatively resolve guests concerns or challenges using business acumen skills and discretion.
  • · Foster a cooperative work environment with all hotel departments to provide a seamless experience to all clients and guests.
  • · Post event follow up with client for feedback and future opportunities.
  • · Maintain relationships with third party vendors.
  • · Knowledge of current event trends and ability to provide creative setups, menus, and programing to clients.
  • · Attend local industry events.

Requirements

  • · Bachelor’s Degree
  • · Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning and private/group event coordination
  • · Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, and co-workers
  • · Knowledge of current event trends
  • · Computer proficiency and ability to work with Delphi, Excel and Microsoft Office programs

Nice to have

  • · Previous Catering or Event Sales experience strongly preferred
  • · Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
