The Event Assistant supports the NC State Student Centers by setting up, striking, and cleaning events in various venues, handling AV equipment, and assisting clients with event setup changes. The role involves troubleshooting issues and reporting to coordinators, ensuring events run smoothly. This is a student position that requires flexibility for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Setup, strike, clean, and report events in State Ballroom, Cinema, Harris Field, and Stafford Commons according to standard operating procedures
Setup and strike all AV equipment for event according to Mazevo and 7PointOps
Assist clients in making any changes to the event setup.
Handle AV equipment such as soundboards, lightboards, microphones, laptops, speakers, projectors, and lights with care and precision.
Troubleshoot and report issues to Technical Coordinator and AV Coordinator in timely manner
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to carry, push, pull, and roll up to 40 pounds
Ability to work with and manage a team to serve a diverse population
Elevated oral and written communication skills
Willingness and ability to support other functions of NC State Student Centers
Attend mandatory staff meetings, student employee orientation, and training sessions

Benefits

Compensation: Students will start at a training level of tier 1 at $11 per hour. Once they have demonstrated sufficient skills they may be eligible to be promoted to a tier 2 position at $12 per hour.
In addition, eligible students will receive longevity raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. Student Centers employees and are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus of up to $200.
