The Marketing and Events Coordinator supports the Office for Student Involvement and Leadership in planning and executing signature campus events and the department's comprehensive marketing plan. The role involves creating social media content, capturing photos and videos at events, designing flyers, and producing the department's bi-weekly newsletter. The coordinator also helps manage processes for Recognized Student Organizations and supports the day-to-day operations of student office assistants. This is a part-time, on-campus position requiring occasional evening and weekend work to support campus events.

- Support the day-to-day operations of OSIL’s student office assistants.
- Manage processes and procedures related to Recognized Student Organizations’ programs
- Assist with creating engaging social media content to promote campus events, programs, and involvement opportunities for new and returning students.
- Capture photos and videos at campus events to highlight student experiences and showcase the vibrant NJIT community.
- Brainstorm and contribute creative content ideas, including trending social media formats, to increase student engagement and school spirit.
- Build relationships with student clubs and organizations by helping promote their events, initiatives, and accomplishments through social media.
- Assist in maintaining a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posts across platforms.
- Collaborate with the Office for Student Involvement & Leadership team to support marketing campaigns, special events, and campus-wide initiatives.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for NJIT by creating authentic, student-centered content that encourages campus involvement and fosters Highlander pride.
- Creating more flyers and designs for university wide events and programs
- Working with various organizations, departments and offices to help with collaborative marketing tools and resources
- Create and develop our department’s bi-weekly newsletter.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Marketing, Communications, Higher Education, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support campus events.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media best practices.
Nice to have
- Pursuing a Master’s in Higher Education or a related field.
Benefits
- $20.00 per hour for 15 - 20 hours per week
- Some weekend work is required. Hours will be adjusted as needed.
- Start date of August 24, 2026 through May 29, 2027 with the potential to be extended.
