The Banquet Captain at Grouse Mountain Lodge leads banquet team members during event setup, service, and teardown, ensuring events are executed according to Banquet Event Orders. This role coordinates event logistics, communicates timelines and expectations, and provides exceptional guest service as a point of contact during events. The captain monitors event execution for quality and guest satisfaction, supports food and beverage service, and maintains banquet spaces and equipment. They also assist with training and coaching team members and collaborate with other departments to ensure successful event delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet team members during event setup, service, and teardown
- Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure events are delivered as planned
- Coordinate event logistics and communicate timelines, expectations, and changes to the team
- Provide exceptional guest service and act as a point of contact during events
- Monitor event execution to ensure quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction
- Support food and beverage service as required
- Maintain banquet spaces, equipment, and supplies to company standards
- Identify and report safety, maintenance, or operational concerns
- Assist with training, coaching, and supporting banquet team members
- Collaborate with Conference Services, Culinary, and Operations teams to ensure successful event delivery
- Support other hospitality operations as needed
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1-3 years of banquet, restaurant, hotel, or event experience required
- Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and willingness to assist wherever needed
Nice to have
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) preferred
- Hospitality POS system experience preferred
