The Event Manager leads the full event lifecycle for Redstone's clients, from concept to completion, including debrief and post-reporting. Reporting to the Team Lead, Events, this role owns in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, managing client relationships, vendors, and logistics. The Event Manager brings strategic thinking and innovation to event design, continuously improving processes and mentoring junior planners. This role directly supports client goals by creating engaging experiences for attendees and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Builds and manages strong relationships with clients, vendors, sponsors, and committees. Leads client communications with confidence, offering proactive advice and strategic expertise. Ensures alignment on goals, expectations, and communication methods;
- Event Planning & Execution: Leads the full event cycle from concept to completion, including logistics, vendor management, and post-event reporting. Drives timelines, tracks milestones, and ensures the delivery of engaging, high-quality events;
- Vendor & Partner Management: Negotiates and manages vendor and venue partnerships to align with event goals. Anticipates potential risks and develops contingency plans to ensure seamless execution;
- Strategic Insight & Continuous Improvement: Analyzes event outcomes to identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Develops and implements plans to elevate future experiences and strengthen client satisfaction;
- Process & Operational Excellence: Refines internal tools, templates, and workflows to support consistency and efficiency. Ensures critical documentation is captured and maintained across all projects;
- Team Mentorship & Development: Mentors junior planners and contributes to a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Promotes knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous learning; and
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Brings creative thinking to event design and execution. Anticipates challenges, provides effective solutions, and embraces new trends and technologies to enhance event delivery.
Requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, Not-for-Profit Management, or a related field;
- You have 3-5+ years of relevant, full-scope event planning experience which includes planning, executing, and delivering on complex, large scale, high attendee conferences and events.
Nice to have
- You have experience working with association management companies, or agencies; and/or
- You have experience working with Boards of Directors, committees, and/or in the not-for-profit sector, and understand board governance and how volunteer leadership operates; and/or
- You have a Digital Event Strategist (DES), Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), or a similar event designation is an asset; and/or
- You are bilingual in English / French (an asset), with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
