The Live Events Associate monitors markets tied to high-profile events across sports, politics, economics, digital assets and more, using proprietary tools to record and track event outcomes while keeping markets fair and orderly. Working on the front lines in a customer-facing capacity, the role involves executing settlement processes, maintaining listed event contracts and researching anomalies to find actionable solutions. Associates collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, compliance and executive leaders to resolve mission-critical, time-sensitive issues. The position operates on an event-driven schedule with Thursday–Sunday shift coverage and an on-call environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor real-world events and ensure that outcomes are recorded on a timely basis within Rothera’s listing, trading, clearing and settlement environments
Maintain Rothera’s listed event contracts, ensuring accurate product specifications, trading parameters, and settlement terms
Synthesize user feedback and coordinate communications when escalating critical event-related issues
Execute and maintain Rothera’s operational procedures, including the final settlement of events
Develop expertise with Rothera trading systems, market functionality, order types, and external interfaces
Collaborate with internal teams at Rothera, including Technology Operations, Product Management, Sales, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Regulation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Initiative to delve beyond surface-level answers and continuously cultivate subject matter expertise
Disciplined attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly acquire new concepts and ideas
Availability and commitment to flexibly accommodate an event-driven work schedule and an on-call environment

Nice to have

1 - 2 years of experience in an institutional trading environment or a detail-driven startup environment
Some professional exposure to, or familiarity with, electronic trading, exchanges
Python programming experience, e.g., composition of simple scripts to automate manual processes or assist with routine assignments
Some ability to query large datasets and analyze query results

Benefits

This position has a base salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, plus participation in a discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
