The Wedding Sales Manager at The Historic Stanley Hotel is responsible for selling, planning, and orchestrating destination weddings and social celebrations. This role manages wedding business from first inquiry through final execution, including ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, farewell brunches, and associated room blocks. The position balances thoughtful hospitality with strong revenue performance, maximizing banquet space, guest room pickup, and food and beverage revenue while delivering elevated experiences. The manager will solicit new business, respond to inquiries, track leads, and collaborate with catering, banquets, culinary, and front office teams to ensure seamless execution.

Responsibilities

  • Your primary goal is to sell, sell, sell! You will qualify and solicit both existing and new accounts, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new business in the wedding and social event sectors through site tours, referrals, wedding platforms, networking, shows, and direct outreach.
  • Respond promptly, ideally on the same day, to all inquiries, prospects, and tentative or definite business opportunities.
  • Accurately track and report on leads using the assigned lead pipeline, updating the status daily and monitoring lead conversion rates and booking statistics.
  • Prepare and send weekly sales activity reports to keep the Director of Sales informed of progress and opportunities.
  • Drive total event revenue by selling, contracting, upselling, and detailing weddings and related social events—including ceremonies, receptions, guest room blocks, menus, bar packages, rentals, décor, outdoor venues, and historic spaces—while producing accurate contracts, rooming lists, BEOs, and event documentation in alignment with The Stanley Hotel’s revenue goals and brand standards. Collaborate closely with catering, banquets, culinary, front office, and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Anticipate and resolve client needs, changes, and challenges with professionalism, empathy, and creativity.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of wedding trends, destination wedding expectations, competitive properties, and The Stanley Hotel’s unique offerings and history.
  • Represent The Stanley Hotel at wedding showcases, open houses, site visits, styled shoots, and community or industry events.
  • Uphold a consistently polished, welcoming, and professional presence that reflects the prestige and personality of the property.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • More than two years of post‑high school education preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in wedding sales, catering sales, event planning, or a related hospitality role. Destination wedding or resort experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wedding and social event sales, catering operations, food and beverage service, menu development, and pricing.
  • Understanding of hotel policies, contracts, and revenue management principles.
  • Exceptional sales, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple weddings simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide clients through complex planning decisions.
  • Creative problem‑solving skills and calm professionalism in high‑emotion, high‑expectation environments.
