Banquet Set-up & Steward

The Banquet Setup & Steward Associate supports the daily operations of Plate Above Catering by assisting with banquet room setup, event breakdown, equipment movement, dishwashing, sanitation, storage organization, and catering support. This position plays an important role in ensuring that event spaces, service equipment, kitchenware, and catering storage areas are clean, organized, properly prepared, and ready for service.

Responsibilities

• Set up, break down, and reset banquet rooms, meeting spaces, buffet stations, and event areas for onsite and offsite catering events.
• Arrange tables, chairs, linens, décor, serviceware, and event equipment according to banquet event orders and client specifications.
• Support event operations by staging supplies, replenishing inventory, clearing tables, and maintaining clean, organized service areas throughout events.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize catering equipment, supplies, and materials for events.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, serviceware, linens, and catering equipment in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchens, stewarding areas, storage rooms, event spaces, and support areas.
• Assist with inventory organization, stocking, receiving deliveries, and maintaining catering equipment and supplies.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and chemical handling procedures.
• Collaborate with culinary, catering, banquet, and operations teams to ensure successful event execution and exceptional guest experiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Plate Above Catering and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
