The Sales & Events Coordinator at Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk supports the Sales and Events team by managing inquiries, following up on leads, scheduling property tours, assisting with event documentation, and coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless event execution. The role is central to client communication and behind-the-scenes organization, ensuring every client feels taken care of from first contact through final execution.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming sales and events inquiries by phone and email with professionalism and responsiveness
Follow up on leads and route them to the appropriate team members; track lead status and follow-through
Schedule and conduct property tours for prospective clients — corporate accounts, social events, and group business
Assist Event Managers with preparation of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), proposals, and event documentation
Support client communication throughout the planning process, ensuring timely updates and follow-through on every commitment
Maintain organized records of inquiries, contracts, and event files in the sales system
Coordinate with front desk, food & beverage, and operations teams to support seamless event execution
Assist with site visits, FAM trips, and client entertainment as needed

Requirements

Prior experience in hotel sales, events, catering, or a related hospitality or customer-facing role preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills — you represent the property in every interaction
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
Familiarity with Delphi, CI/TY, or similar sales and event management software is a plus — we'll train the right person
Team player who takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys working with people
