This role is for a Senior Event Producer to own end-to-end production at Shopify NY, the flagship event space in SoHo. You will produce complex, multi-stakeholder events that bring Shopify's brand and product to life, partnering with Brand, Icons, Partnerships, and Brand Design Studio teams. You'll own timelines, vendors, and executional excellence from concept to tear-down, and be measured on the outcomes those events drive.
Responsibilities
- Own the production portfolio. Lead end-to-end production across the Spaces programming mix: community experiences (such as Shopify Study Hall), creator partnerships (ex: Daily Drills), Icons pop-ups (ex: Houseplant by Seth Rogen), and flagship retail events (ex: Backyard Baseball).
- Set and hit the targets. Own the numbers for your events and report against them in every recap: attendance, cost-per-head (CPH), local merchant reach, and earned social impressions.
- Scope, negotiate, and manage vendors and fabricators. Maintain clear budgets and production schedules, and hold vendors to Shopify’s craft bar.
- Translate creative into executable production. Partner with Brand, Partnerships, and Brand Design Studio to shape cohesive experiences; brief and scope Brand Design Studio on landing pages, event copy, newsletter assets, and custom creative for brand partners so every touchpoint meets Shopify’s design standards.
- Dogfood Shopify's products. Bring Shopify POS, Sidekick, and Shop to life IRL, staying close to what’s shipping so every activation demos the real thing.
- Lead on the ground. Run project builds, direct crews, own run-of-show, and hold the bar for guest and talent experience during live events.
- Evolve how we produce. Capture learnings after every event and work with the Spaces NY Manager to sharpen templates and playbooks, including AI workflows across comms, approvals, and reporting that make the team faster.
Requirements
- 5+ years of event production, experiential marketing, or brand experience management, ideally across both agency and in-house settings
- A track record of producing high-stakes, multi-stakeholder events with VIP brands and talent, and measurable outcomes you can point to.
- Exceptional communication and project management skills. You balance multiple projects at once and collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Shopify.
- A strong vendor, merchant, and retail network, with the ability to communicate scope and negotiate details so delivery lands at the highest standard.
- Leadership without authority. You’ve set direction for other producers, partners, and agencies as project lead.
- Hospitality mindset. You anticipate needs, stay calm under pressure, and create environments where merchants and partners feel cared for.
- Product curiosity. You want to know how POS, Sidekick, and other Shopify products work, and you turn that understanding into activations merchants remember.
- Fluency with internal tooling and an appetite for AI-driven workflows that increase speed and efficiency.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional travel around the event calendar.
Benefits
- The estimated compensation range for this role is $74,400 - $141,900 which includes salary and equity. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Depending on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, 401K plan, and other benefits.
