The Community and Campus Events Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing & Public Relations and is responsible for coordinating community education and non-credit courses, managing event reservations and logistics for campus facilities, and providing event management for internal and external events. The role also involves overseeing the college's audio and visual technology for special events and productions, assisting with photo shoots, and serving as a liaison with external organizations. The coordinator supports college and Foundation special events and other campus projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate community education and non-credit courses, which may include Kids College, Seniors Institute, and non-credit self-improvement, and general interest courses, seminars, and workshops.
  • Coordinate and may facilitate non-credit classes and camps, which will include designing class plans, hiring and supervising instructors, overseeing registrations, completing work orders, and developing payment process. Coordinator will assist with promoting and recruiting participants.
  • Coordinate reservations for the Workforce Training Center Tyson Hall, the Fine Arts Auditorium, and other reservable facilities on campus. The coordinator serves as a college liaison/representative at events, productions, and presentations from outside organizations.
  • Provide event management for internal and external campus events such as meetings, specialty classes, and workshops, including reservation of rooms, staffing, and technology infrastructure support.
  • The coordinator will oversee operation of the college’s audio and visual technology for college-related special events and productions, as well as presentations from outside businesses and organizations. This requires working knowledge of audio and visual technology, including projector, laptop computer, stage lights, and sound booth, including microphone system, DVD and CD players, etc.
  • As needed, assist with photo shoots including assembling equipment, coordinating the photo release paperwork, and helping to set up lighting.
  • Assist with college and Foundation special events and other special campus projects.
  • Serve as a point of contact with secondary schools, businesses and industry, and other organizations for correspondence about UACCM’s potential partnerships, ad sponsorships, and event assistance to discuss details and logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.##

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in related field or in event management with similar required duties
  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills; proficient with Word and Excel
  • Aptitude for quickly learning modern technology or knowledge of audio and visual technology
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with all levels of staff, faculty, donors, and visitors
  • Accountable for accurate, detailed meeting records; timely documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple tasks on an on-going basis
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Ambassador for the College; exercises professional judgment, behavior, and actions
  • Experience using data management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
