The Athletic Operations Intern supports the Facility and Game Operations unit at the University of Virginia's Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include daily event operations, project management, and facility preparations, such as managing meeting space setups, assisting with maintenance, preparing facilities for events, and managing equipment inventory. The intern also provides game day support at home athletics events and assists with special event setups. The role offers flexible hours with opportunities to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Bryant Hall meeting space setups
  • Assisting with general maintenance and projects throughout athletic facilities
  • Prepare facilities for upcoming events
  • Manage inventory of athletic owned equipment
  • Opportunity to work nights and weekends supporting staff at home athletics events
  • Miscellaneous tasks as needed by Facility and Game Management staff
  • Assist with Olympic competition facility and event support
  • On-site for special event weekend setups (camps, recruiting, rentals, etc)

Requirements

  • UVA undergraduate student eligible for student employment and federal work study
  • Ability to work outside regularly
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
