The Event Manager will be the client's go-to person for events at The Arding Rooms, a private members' club and events venue. They will guide clients from the initial handover from the Sales team through to the event day, coordinating all details such as timings, floor plans, menus, AV, suppliers, and staffing. They will work closely with the Hospitality Director, General Manager, and Food & Beverage team to ensure seamless execution, and will be on hand during events to manage any issues and maintain a reassuring presence. The role also involves handling administrative tasks like deposits and invoicing, with the overall goal of making the event process smooth and enjoyable for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Once an event is contracted and handed over by our Sales team, you'll become the client's go-to person. You'll get to know them, understand what they're trying to create and guide them through the process, making sure they feel confident and looked after along the way.
  • Behind the scenes, you'll be pulling all the pieces together - timings, floor plans, menu requirements, AV, suppliers, staffing and all those little details that make a big difference. You'll work closely with our Hospitality Director, General Manager, Food & Beverage team and external partners to make sure everyone knows what's happening and is ready to deliver.
  • And when the doors open, you'll be on hand to welcome the client and keep an eye on how the event flows. It is inevitable that some events won’t go as planned, so you'll be comfortable if plans have to pivot, quietly sort any issues and maintain a reassuring composure.
  • You'll also make sure the relevant admin is are taken care of behind the scenes - deposits, invoicing and supplier paperwork etc.

Requirements

  • You know how to deliver. You show up every day with energy, determination, and focus.
  • You're warm and confident with clients, naturally organised and notice the details other people often miss. You enjoy bringing teams together, are comfortable jumping in to support and keep your cool, even when things get bumpy!
  • Your standards are high, but you also believe hospitality isn't about being overly formal or transactional - it's about taking the time to build relationships. It's about reading the room and quietly adapting, so guests feel consistently comfortable and relaxed.
  • Most importantly, you care. You want the client to leave happy, guests to have had a memorable experience, and the team to feel proud of what they've delivered.
  • Ideally you have experience in a similar role for a private members club or premium hospitality venue.
